Please read the information below to see what type of undergarments are required for female students during the show, and decide if you would like to purchase a "nude leotard" for your daughter to wear under her costumes.

• When we perform at Spinney Theatre, our girls changing area is one big room with all of them together supervised by our Chaperones.

• Everyone must change in the changing room. Costumes cannot be taken to the toilets to change into.

• Pants must be small/high-leg plain white or beige pants. No boxers/shorts style pants are allowed.

• Childrens vests cannot be worn with costumes.

• Younger students may not feel the need to wear the nude leotard, however you are welcome to buy them one if you would like to.

• If your daughter usually wears a bra and needs more support than just a leotard, then any bra straps must be skin tone or clear.

• There is nothing worse than seeing colourful underwear sticking out from under a costume! Please make sure your child is wearing the appropriate underwear on show day and the Saturday dress rehearsal.

  
  

  
  

Junior Performers / Cheerleading students
Our cheer dresses and cheer tops are white and quite thin fabric. If your daughter is not wearing a nude leotard, they must wear a skin coloured bra or vest top (with thin straps) as other colours will show through the fabric.

Pre-teen/Teen Students in 2 classes or less
A nude leotard is not essential, however it may help her feel more comfortable if she is nervous of getting changed in the communal room. Bra's must have skin tone or clear straps.

Pre-teen/Teen Students in 3 classes or more
I highly recommend that they have a nude leotard with clear straps to wear under all of their costumes. These students will likely have a ‘quick change’ at some point in the show when may not have time to return to the changing room and will need to change from one costume to the next in the backstage area. There will be a privacy screen, however the leotard will help to reduce any embarrassment of getting changed and allow them to get changed quicker. Bra's must have skin tone or clear straps.



HOW TO ORDER YOUR NUDE LEOTARD

Our online dance store has a range of nude leotards and bra's available in our 'Show Extras' section. Most of these are available for both lighter and darker skin tones. There are 2 styles, one with a plain leotard front and one with a padded bra front.

As of 4/6/26 several sizes of nude leotards are out of stock. They are due in on 12/6/26. Please order quickly when they arrive as they only stock around 10 in each size. These often sell out at this time of year as so many schools have their show this term.
