HAIR
Our show hairstyle this year for medium to long hair is a ballet bun with a centre parting.

If your child's hair is too short to make a bun, it should be pinned back securely away from the face, using grips that match the hair colour.

Boys should have long fringes brushed away from the face and secured with gel or spray.

Please click here to watch a video demonstration of how to make your ballet bun. (it has great advice on how to make your bun - but she probably uses a bit too much hairspray!!)

We have hair kits available to purchase for £3 on Saturday, with all the pins, grips and nets that you need. The wide pins are used to secure the bun. The narrow grips can be used as extra security for the bun/net or to hold any short hairs that don't quite reach the bun.

  • Fringes must be pulled back from the face with the rest of the hair, you can use gel and grips to hold it in place.

Please do your best to secure your child's hair as shown in the video. If you are struggling to get the hair to stay in place one of our Chaperones can check it when you arrive. We will be taking photos at the dress rehearsal, so hair must be ‘show style’ as above on Saturday 11th July.

Hair Tips:

  • Do a practice run of the hairstyle at home a week or two before the show.

  • All hair pins, elastics and bun net should match the colour of your child's hair.

  • We recommend that you don't wash your child's hair on the morning of the rehearsal/show. Freshly washed hair is harder to style as it slides out of place. If you want to remove the styling products after the dress rehearsal, wash the hair on Saturday evening without using conditioner.

    MAKEUP
As we are performing in a theatre with bright professional lighting, makeup is needed to prevent the performers faces from appearing 'washed out', however it is just a natural look so that we can see their features. You should do their makeup at home but send it with them so the chaperones can help with any touch-ups.

  • Girls in Pre-Primary, Primary and Mini Performers: a light dusting of bronzer over whole face, blusher, light-brown eye shadow, mascara, red lipstick.

  • Girls in all other classes: foundation, bronzer, blusher, mid-brown eye shadow, mascara, red lipstick.

  • Boys: a light dusting of bronzer over whole face, blusher, light-brown eye shadow, mascara. A lipstick/lipbalm close to their natural lip colour.

Please get a matt bronzer, so that children are not too glittery!
No nail varnish on fingers or toes.
No fake tattoos/transfers
Students must not share their makeup with anyone else.

Students should arrive on both the Saturday and the Sunday with their hair and makeup done.

All jewellery must be removed before arriving on both days.
